LA – Amazing Things To Do

Los Angeles is the destination of dreams. Although might be seeing beach photos and walking holidays that people are taking, there is so much more to the city than that. And, while most people decide to go for a summer vacation, it is often too hot for people who always live there, never mind visitors who aren’t used to it. So if you don’t have some inside activities plans, you’ll be on the beach, sweating from the humidity wondering where is excellent to go. Well, there are some fantastic things to do in LA and here are just a small selection of them.

Food

Anywhere you travel to, you should always make a point of heading to the local food places. But don’t fall into the trap of following what tourists recommend. Spend some time looking for where the locals go. They will know where the best stuff really is. If you want to head somewhere like Gjusta for breakfast – go at 7 and beat the crowds, but be ready to empty your wallet on the counter for the pleasure. Learn to make amazing pizza on a Sunday evening at Baldoria. The Manufactory’s, which is a collab between some amazing chefs, has an array, unlike anything you’re likely to get anywhere else. Get the cold brew and the baked goods.

Culture

Every city has a background, and some are more interesting than others. LA has a wealth of places you can check out that will give you a lot of bang for your buck. The Getty Villa, LACMA, The Ronald Reagan Museum, and be sure to check out the interactive museum too. The Getty Villa is located in the Pacific Palisades, and as such, many people miss out on it – but not you! It isn’t heaving with tourists, and there are outdoor performances too. MOCA is downtown LA and has Exhibits from Warhol – which should go some way to giving you an idea of the modern art that is up for your consideration and pondering.

Los Angeles gives one the feeling of the future more strongly than any city I know of. A bad future, too, like something out of Fritz Lang’s feeble imagination – Henry Miller

Movies

There is watching a movie in the cinema, then there is heading out into the great outdoors and watching a movie. There are so many LA al fresco film options. There is the Rooftop Cinema Club which hosts nights almost every evening in the summer, Mr. C’s Poolside Cinema on Tuesday nights, and E.P&L.P host the Melrose Rooftop Theater during the summer too. They all have added perks from cocktails to being next to some amazing cuisine.

Those are just a couple of options LA is packed with so much to see and do that if you are considering a holiday, then you should think about going to at least 2 weeks. Check-in advance what you can do for free in LA, make sure that you have public travel passes and have travel insurance too.
