Last month, we received a Newton Crib Mattress for review.  The mattress was shipped via UPS and arrived at our door exactly as described online.  When we opened it up, I was thrilled to find out how soft it is. The mattress is designed with baby’s health safety, and comfort in mind so the innovative design allows air to flow freely for optimal breathability and temperature regulation.  I have to say that I honestly think my daughter sleeps better on this mattress than she ever did on her old one.   Because it’s got a soft cover instead of a plastic cover it doesn’t make the amount of noise of her previous mattress but it can still be easily cleaned by simply throwing the cover in the washing machine and rinsing off the Wovenaire core in the bathtub. Newton is the only 100% washable crib mattress.

Plus, the safety of this mattress is the icing on the cake. Suffocation is the leading cause of injury-related death among children less than a year old due to the use of conventional, waterproof mattresses. Those mattresses are covered with an impermeable skin that prevents air circulation and increases the risk of suffocation. Newton Baby mattresses are made of 90% air and 10% food grade polymer which allows for a breathable, three-dimensional fabric that contains no foam, latex, springs, glue, or allergens.   It’s literally like sleeping on a cloud of air. This is exactly what I needed to put my mind at ease when it comes my little angel.   The mattress fits all standard crib sizes, but I will say that it fits extremely tight so it makes changing her bedclothes a little more difficult than normal.  I guess that’s a small price to pay for the knowledge that my baby is sleeping safer and more comfortable than before.
