Years ago, I worked at a hotel on Daytona Beach and one of my favorite weekends of the year would be the Turkey Rod Run – The Largest Combined Car Show and Swap Meet in the USA. For us, it meant hundreds of amazing classic and collectible cars filling out parking spaces to the delight of staff and guests. The event itself hosts over 5000 collector cars, 1200 cars for sale in the Car Corral and over 1500 swap meet vendors ALL at the Daytona International Speedway beginning next Thursday and runs thru Sunday.
The event allows all cars made before 1980 in addition to the hot rods of today. Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Chargers, Challengers, Prowlers, Vipers, SSR’s, Fiero’s and Foreign & Domestic Exotics and fully customized vehicles.
I said family friendly, right? Well, they didn’t forget about the little ones. The Little Gobbler’s Zone features bounce house and more to keep them entertained.
There really is something for everyone!
Headlining the 45th Daytona Turkey Run is a fun, supersized event showcasing the original Batcopter N3079G from the Batman TV series. The 1966 Batmobile and 1966 Batcycle will also be on display.
What vehicle would you most like to see? We will be checking it out next weekend, and I’m super excited to see of my favorite cars from my childhood. VW Beetles, Mustangs, and Camaros
