We recently attended the recent opening weekend for Medieval Times in Orlando. The new show featured an all new story line and royal ruler, a Queen. For the first time in a 34 years, a woman has been put into the lead role and we loved it!!
What Is It?
Located in the Kissimme area of Orlando (about 15 minutes from Disney World and 25 minutes from Downtown Orlando), Medieval Times is a family dinner theater show set in a replica of an 11th century castle that features medieval style tournament games such as sword fighting and jousting. Each section is assigned a knight that you are supposed to cheer on to victory. Our knight did not do so well but it was still exciting to watch.
When we first arrived we toured the Medieval Village and then settled into a booth in one of the bars. There was plenty of seating for those who have trouble standing for long periods of time.
There is so much pomp and circumstance in the show. Lots of handsome knights, a regal Queen, beautiful horses, and great food. My kids absolutely loved it!! So much so, that they didn’t want to leave when it was over.
The Dinner
Tomato soup with garlic bread, rotisserie style chicken, potato and corn cobbette. Lemon pound cake for dessert. (Vegetarian menu options are also available.) The servings were huge and very tasty. Unfortunately, they didn’t have many options for my low carb diet, but I did enjoy the chicken, corn and tomato soup.
Tickets
General Admission is $62.95 for Adults and $36.95 for Children 12 & Under. There are additional ticket options that allow you to add on souvenirs, photos, and priority seating and castle access. You can often find special on their website or social media pages. I would definitely recommend Medieval Times for anyone who is looking for an out of the ordinary experience in Orlando.
Note: We received complimentary admission in exchange for this honest review. All thoughts and ideas are entirely our own.
This looks like so much fun! I’ve always wanted to do this.
I’ve heard about these shows and I think they would be a lot of fun to watch!
Loved the show. Food was great. Everything good for the price paid.
I’d love to go to one of these someday. Thanks for posting!
