We recently had the opportunity to see Cirque Italia in Sanford, Florida.
Cirque Italia brings a custom designed water state to cities all over the country. The stage holds 35,000 gallons of water that performers dazzle over while thrilling the audience with every move. Cirque Italia brings talented artists from across the world under the big top with performances that will really have you wanting more. They bring unique aerial acts, hand balancing, contortionists, and many more surprise performances that are absolutely breathtaking.
As you know my kids are 1, 4, and 5 so I was a little worried that they might be bored or disinterested, but it was completely opposite. They loved it!! There were so many tremendous acts that involved beautiful costumes, acrobatics, balancing acts and even comedy. There was really never an opportunity for them to get bored because there were two men (a circus master and a clown) who kept the audience laughing during the set refreshers. And, to be honest they were really one of the highlights of the show. While they were a little crude at times(luckily most of their comments went over my kids heads) but they were mostly just silly, funny and very fun to watch. My kids loved them so much that they even acted out a couple of their comedy routines when we got home that evening.
The show was roughly two hours long and the seats were incredibly comfort. There were venders who strolled about offering popcorn, water, and other snacks as well as souvenirs. I was worried that the tent would be hot, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the temperature was extremely comfortable. Note: If you have sensory challenged kids, you may want to bring headphones or earplugs for them because the generators were noisy and bothered my son.
My only complaint would have been that we were expecting to see mermaids and I had stupidly told my kids that they were going to be there and then they didn’t have them. I’m not sure if this was a one time thing due to sickness or if they have been removed from the show permanently. Nonetheless, Cirque Italia was a great show and I highly recommend it. Be sure to check their website for a full list of dates and locations of their upcoming shows.
This looks like so much fun to see! I would definitely love to take my family to this. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
